Sean Strickland insists his Dricus du Plessis rematch will happen in America: "You're not ducking me Dutch man"
Sean Strickland last entered the octagon in June as he defeated Paulo Costa via split decision in the co-main event of UFC 302. The No.1-ranked middleweight appears in line to receive the next opportunity to challenge Dricus du Plessis for the title after losing the belt to him via split decision at UFC 297 in January.
He recently claimed that the bout will take place in the United States. 'Tarzan' took to X on Sunday to shoot down the idea of fighting in South Africa, tweeting:
"You don't want me there, I don't either highest unemployment rate in the world The 3rd worst crime rate in the world It has been ranked as the most unequal place on the earth It's racist, unequal, you have small white wealthy minority and a poor black majority Las Vegas."
He followed that up by claiming that the rematch will take place in the United States:
"We will be fighting in the land of the free... You're not ducking me Dutch man......... I know you're going to try.... it's not happening..... Dana white "you're next in line" Were bringing it back to America and the belt is staying back in America! [United States flag]"

He claimed that he visited an orphanage, which left a bad impression of the country. The No.1-ranked middleweight fought in Durban, South Africa, in his sixth career mixed martial arts bout back in 2010.
Dricus du Plessis believes Robert Whittaker deserves a title shot over Sean Strickland
Sean Strickland appears to be next in line to challenge Dricus du Plessis for the middleweight title. 'Stillknocks', however, believes that Robert Whittaker is more deserving of the opportunity. Speaking at the post-fight press conference, the middleweight champion stated:
"Robert Whittaker deserves the shot. I think he's being done over... Sean Strickland's only saving grace is the fact that he went a decision with me... Strickland, right now, that's the fight that people want to see so, that's what you get, but Whittaker is definitely the one that's being done over in this, in my opinion. He's more deserving, but, you know, life's not fair."

Whittaker is set to face Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 308 in October. The pair had previously been booked to clash at UFC on ABC 6 in June. However, 'Borz' was forced to withdraw due to illness. 'The Reaper' instead faced Ikram Aliskerov, winning the bout via first-round knockout.
