Sean Strickland posts controversial Women's Day wishes, asks men to 'stop becoming f**king women'

Sean Strickland had an interesting way of celebrating International Women’s Day.

March 8 is a day dedicated to honoring women around the world. Whether it’s a mother, daughter, wife, friend, or strong individual, every woman deserves respect for their contributions to society.

Strickland, the number seven-ranked UFC middleweight, acknowledged International Women’s Day with an interesting video posted on Twitter. He had this to say:

“It’s National Women’s Day, so I just wanna give a big, big message to women and the men. Women, you guys are soft, weak, you’re compassionate, you cry a lot, a lot, you guys cry a lot. Bad training sessions, you guys f**king cry, it’s really weird, but women, we f**king need you women because right now, if all the women were to vanish, straight f**king cannibalism tomorrow.”

Strickland continued by saying:

“But men, on National Women’s Day, more importantly, stop becoming f**king women. Let the women be women, you guys. Let them be the soft and weak ones and let us be the f**king men. That’s my message to you men and women.”

Strickland’s comments on women are likely not surprising to his social media followers. The 32-year-old has built a strong fanbase through controversial comments over the last few years. With that said, when the Octagon door locks, he becomes a fighter who is difficult not to respect.

What’s next for Sean Strickland’s fighting career?

Sean Strickland last fought in January against Nassourdine Imavov in a short-notice opportunity at 205 pounds. Strickland emerged victorious by unanimous decision, ending his two-fight skid. The question is, what’s next for the number seven-ranked UFC middleweight?

Strickland has been pursuing a fight against number five-ranked Paulo Costa, who is coming off a win against Luke Rockhold. The proposed middleweight matchup is intriguing stylistically and would have an entertaining buildup.

Costa is dealing with an ongoing financial dispute with the promotion, so it’s unclear when he plans to fight again.

Sean Strickland wants to fight Paulo Costa next so he can "put him on his knees and f*ck him like Izzy."
