Sean Strickland reacts to Jon Jones posing alongside Gordon Ryan and Jake Shields: "Hide the wife lol"

Jon Jones has not competed since March 2023 when he defeated Ciryl Gane via first-round submission to capture the vacant heavyweight title at UFC 285. 'Bones' recently spent some time with Gordon Ryan and Jake Shields, the latter of whom captured the moment and shared it to social media.

The former Strikeformer middleweight champion and UFC welterweight title challenger shared a picture of the three, captioning the post:

"My friends can beat up your friends @jonnybones @gordonlovesjiujitsu"

Meanwhile, Strickland reshared the photo in a since-deleted Instagram story, adding:

"Lmao!!!!!! Take the keys. Hide the wife lol"

'Bones' is likely approaching training camp as he appears set to make his return to the octagon at UFC 309 in November, where he is reportedly set to face Stipe Miocic. The pair were booked to clash at UFC 295 last November, however, the heavyweight champion pulled out from the bout after tearing the tendon that connects the pectoral muscle to the bone.

Sean Strickland simultaneously praises and calls out Jon Jones

Jon Jones is widely considered the greatest mixed martial artist of all time, however, he has had his fair share of issues outside of the octagon. Sean Strickland recently managed to simultaneously praise the heavyweight champion while also calling him out.

Speaking on Verse Us with Eric Nicksick, the No. 1-ranked middleweight stated:

"If I had to f**king sculpt somebody, you could not build a better athlete for fighting than Jon Jones, minus the f**king cocaine and smacking pregnant women and s**t, and steroids. Have you ever met Jon Jones? I heard he's a really nice guy. Unless you're in a f**king Vegas hotel room. If he were to just be like, 'guys, I'm a piece of s**t. I try not to be a piece of s**t, but I'm a f**king piece of s**t', then I'd be like, 'alright'.

Strickland continued:

"He talks about God and s**t as he's f**king doing cocaine off a stripper's p**sy. Come on, you motherf**ker, be the f**king villain, bro, you are a villain. You are not a good man. You are not a decent man. You are a piece of s**t, who is one of the best fighters in the f**king world. Own that, be a piece of s**t and then I'll be like, 'f**k yeah, look at that f**king scumbag'. I want to root for you, but, you know, next time you hit a pregnant chick, bro, just drive faster."

Jones has faced multiple suspensions from the UFC, however, his talent inside of the octagon cannot be denied. The former light heavyweight champion holds plenty of records within the promotion and could probably break a tie with Demetrious Johnson for the most successful title defenses in UFC history at UFC 309.
