Sean Strickland's "100% true conversation" with father before latter died of cancer took an unexpected dark turn

Sean Strickland is known for not mincing his words, whether it be about transgender MMA fighters or gun control in the U.S. The UFC middleweight star was equally unfiltered while recalling a conversation between him and his late father.

As per Strickland, his father, while dying of cancer, admitted that he wasn't the best father but took credit for not molesting his son. Strickland wrote on Twitter:

"My dad dying of cancer "Sean I know I wasn't the best to you, but at least I didn't molest you" 100 percent true conversation"

Strickland's comments came in response to a fan who cracked a crass joke about his father. The conversation was started by the UFC fighter who stated that his father left pornographic cassettes in his sister's VCR. The 32-year-old wrote:

"bro I grew up so white trash you'd go to turn on Aladin in the family VCR and there was "butt f***ers 29" left in by my dad lmao... My sister got her own VCR once and she would get so p*ssed because my dad would always leave porn in it lmao.."

Sean Strickland obviously has had issues with his father

Sean Strickland has seemingly endured a strained relationship with his father. While some of it maybe inferred from Strickland's unique personality, the UFC middleweight has also hinted at it in the past.

While discussing his staredown with Nassourdine Imavov, Strickland said during the UFC Vegas 67 post-fight presser:

“I f**king hate it. Like it makes me so f**king angry, dude. It just makes me angry. You aren’t my f**king Dad, don’t look at me like that."

Strickland also previously recalled an incident when he asked his father to commit suicide. The UFC fighter told Brendan Schaub:

"I want to tell you about my dad. My dad was laying in bed one day with a .45. I f*****g walked up and he was talking about suicide. I said 'You should f***ing do it.' I was like 17 at the time. 'Your wife left you, you're unemployed, you're a f***ing drug addict. You should do it.' He didn't f***ing do it and died at 50 something of cancer, f***ing miserable."
