Sean Strickland urges Elon Musk to "Save Instagram" in latest rant against $1.43 trillion-worth Meta's social media platform: "You can't be funny"
Sean Strickland recently turned to Elon Musk, urging him to step in and revamp Instagram as he unleashed a fiery tirade against the social media platform's current state. The former UFC middleweight champion stands out in the MMA world not only for his prowess inside the octagon but also for his unfiltered and often polarizing commentary on everyday matters.
Strickland took to X to express his disdain for Instagram, criticizing it as overly commercialized and dominated by influencers promoting questionable content. He voiced frustration with the photo and video-sharing platform's limited space for genuine expression and humor, suggesting it has become more focused on curated appearances than authenticity.
The outspoken UFC fighter further tagged Musk in his post, seemingly imploring the tech mogul to acquire Instagram:
"Instagram is one giant f**king commercial... Famous people peddling BS [bullsh*t] with a blue checkmark. You can't be funny; you can't be authentic... Just one giant f**king p**dophile ad straight to the f**king dome... Elon Musk save Instagram :/"

Strickland has remained inactive since his split decision victory over Paulo Costa at UFC 302 in June and now waits in the wings for his second shot at the 185-pound title against reigning champion Dricus du Plessis.
The 33-year-old Californian saw his middleweight title slip away to du Plessis, who claimed victory in a closely contested split decision at UFC 297 in January.
When Sean Strickland volunteered to train Elon Musk for MMA clash with Mark Zuckerberg
In June 2023, Elon Musk ignited a social media storm by challenging Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight shortly after Meta unveiled its new platform, Threads, aimed at rivaling X.
Sean Strickland joined the discussion surrounding the heated rivalry between the tech giants, throwing his support behind Musk and offering to train him for a hypothetical MMA showdown. He wrote on X:
"Man f**k Mark Zuckerberg.. Dirty communist... No one wants your goggles and your disinformation censorship, but... The Facebook market gets a pass... Elon Musk, come to [Las] Vegas. We will put in work!"
