Sedriques Dumas speaks out on domestic violence charges after UFC Abu Dhabi triumph: "I ain't no women beater"
UFC middleweight Sedriques Dumas spoke on the domestic violence accusations against him during the UFC event on Aug. 3. Dumas locked horns against Denis Tiuliulin in a middleweight scrap that opened up the fight card for the UFC Abu Dhabi event. The event was held at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The fight went the 15-minute distance and ended in a unanimous decision victory for 'The Reaper'. The three judges scored the bout 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27 in favor of the 28-year-old.
After the fight, Dumas spoke to Daniel Cormier for his post-fight octagon interview. During that interaction, he denied the domestic violence charges against him and stated that he did not intend on walking away from the UFC anytime soon.
"After everybody wanna bad-mouth me, tell me I'm a woman-beater online, you know this is s**t, bro... I ain't no woman-beater. I've been coming to the gym everyday, working my tail off. That was in the past. That was some BS. And I'm here to stay like I told Dana White on the Contender Series. I'm here to stay. Don't give up on me, big man. I'm here to stay."

Earlier this year in February, Dumas was charged with domestic violence and arrested by the police. According to the police report, 'The Reaper' allegedly struck the mother of his child and scratched her. The case was at first a felony, but was later changed to a misdemeanor.
Sedriques Dumas pleaded not guilty to the accusations and his trial is currently under process.
This was not the first time the UFC middleweight had faced such accusations. Before joining hands with the UFC in 2022, Dumas faced allegations of striking a woman outside a bar in Pensacola, Florida. But no arrests were made and the case was closed.
