"See you soon" - Kwon Won Il and bantamweight MMA king Fabricio Andrade go at it, fueling flames for a potential world title rematch
ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade is ready and willing to take on all comers for his 26 pounds of gold and he might just have found his first challenger.
The world's largest martial arts promotion shared a highlight of Andrade's first world title match against Brazilian rival John Lineker on Instagram which prompted a familiar foe to respond in the comments section.
Ranked as the No. 3 fighter in the bantamweight MMA division, South Korean knockout artist Kwon Won Il teased a fight with 'Wonder Boy' in the comments section which can be seen below:
"See you soon," wrote Kwon in the comments section.
Kwon was the last opponent that Andrade had fought prior to his first world title matchup with the aforementioned Lineker.
Andrade's first fight against Lineker, however, ended in disappointment after an inadvertent low blow caused their ONE on Prime Video 3 headliner to become a no-contest.
'Wonder Boy' ultimately captured the vacant ONE bantamweight MMA world title when he stopped Lineker in their rematch at ONE Fight Night 7 in February 2023.
To date, the reigning ONE bantamweight MMA world champion has six victories with five of them coming by way of a finish.
Why has Fabricio Andrade not fought yet in 2024?
At 26 years old, Fabricio Andrade has been viewed by many ONE fans as a must-watch attraction since his July 2020 debut and has been in eight high-profile contests thus far.
However, Andrade has not yet been seen inside the Circle this year which has fans wondering about his current status.
In a recent interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Andrade said that he was nursing multiple injuries in 2023.
'Wonder Boy' also revealed that his body wasn't in peak shape when he faced Jonathan Haggerty for the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title at ONE Fight Night 16.
"But right now, I'm focused on my health. I want to get healthy again and I want to feel strong again and then defend my MMA belt and then we can see what is next after that."
