“See you, brother” - Tawanchai PK Saenchai all geared up for another Muay Thai slugfest against Superbon at ONE 170
Tawanchai PK Saenchai is all geared up and ready for another world title super fight against Superbon.
The reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion will defend his throne against his fellow Thai megastar in the main event of ONE 170 on Jan. 24, 2025, at Impact Arena in Bangkok.
Superbon was the first of the two headliners to share his mindset ahead of the all-Thai super fight. Tawanchai quickly shared his sentiment when he commented on the ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion's Instagram post.
Tawanchai wrote:
"See you, brother."
Tawanchai and Superbon fought in a massive super fight for the first time when the former defended his ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title at ONE Friday Fights 46 in December 2023.
Their first match was a technical and brutal back-and-forth that was the perfect testament to Tawanchai and Superbon's superb striking pedigree.
For the entire five-round match, Superbon and Tawanchai threw textbook shots at each other with the crowd inside the historic Lumpinee Stadium singing with every swing, punch, elbow, knee, and kick.
As the dust settled, Tawanchai earned the nod of all three judges for the unanimous decision win.
Superbon and Tawanchai have since captured three wins between them in 2024.
Tawanchai retained his featherweight Muay Thai throne escaping with a majority decision win in his world title defense over Jo Nattawut at ONE 167.
Superbon, meanwhile, captured the ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world title when he secured a hard-fought unanimous decision win over eternal rival Marat Grigorian at ONE Friday Fights 58.
After his win over Grigorian, Superbon knocked out Nattawut in the first round of their featherweight Muay Thai showdown at ONE Friday Fights 81.
Superbon believes his win over Jo Nattawut gave him a massive boost to securing another shot at Tawanchai
Even though his world title challenge against Tawanchai was just announced this past week, Superbon felt he already secured the shot when he knocked Jo Nattawut out in September.
Superbon secured a stunning knockout finish when he clocked Nattawut with a blinding elbow shot in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 81 at Lumpinee Stadium.
In his post-event interviews, Superbon said he felt that the win gave him a substantial argument to secure another shot at the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title that Tawanchai owned:
"That means I step closer to the belt. For me right now, because my goal is the belt, so I'm going to go there."
