Sergio Pettis discusses his brother Anthony's willingness to fight Cedric Doumbe in Paris: "Most people try to run from that stuff"

Sergio Pettis recently discussed his brother, Anthony's willingness to fight Cedric Doumbe in Paris, which appears to be in the works for a future PFL-Bellator event. The kickboxer-turned-MMA fighter has proven to be a big draw in his home country and could make for an entertaining bout against the former UFC lightweight champion.

Following 'The Best's first round TKO win over Jaleel Willis last month at Bellator Champions Series: Paris, 'Showtime' was brought into the cage for a special faceoff. The former UFC lightweight champion then proceeded to make a request to PFL CEO Peter Murray that their fight take place in Paris because of the atmosphere.

While speaking to The Game Plan, the former Bellator bantamweight champion weighed in on his brother being open to Doumbe having the home crowd advantage. Pettis mentioned that his brother's mentality is what separates him from others and made him such a fan favorite. He said:

"Anthony is showing, you know, a testimony to who he truly is. He's down to be a gambler and really risk going into their territory and taking them out. That's legendary stuff. Most people try to run from that stuff, we don't run from that. We're out here trying to go where their from and take them out in front of they're home crowd, just like they're trying to do to us...I thought it was epic. I'm glad he called him out in Paris." Sergio Pettis will be in a similar situation as his brother at RIZIN 47

In addition to his brother Anthony, Sergio Pettis will get to experience what it's like fighting an opponent in their home country as he takes on Kyoji Horiguchi at RIZIN 47 in Japan.

The bout is a rematch of their 2021 encounter, which saw 'The Phenom' earn an impressive fourth round knockout win after dropping Horiguchi with a spinning back-fist. Another win over the Japanese competitor could open up plenty of opportunities for Pettis as a RIZIN flyweight title shot against 'The Typhoon' could be a possibility should the PFL continue cross-promoting.
