Seven-time Mr. Olympia winner shares five-word reaction to Jon Jones' linkup with Gable Steveson and Gordon Ryan

Reigning UFC heavyweight champion and MMA all-time great Jon Jones has been training with Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson and multiple-time No.-Gi jiu-jitsu world champion Gordon Ryan. Like make fans, seven-time Mr. Olympia winner Phil Heath is impressed by the historic meeting of the modern-day titans.

Jones is headed for what could be the biggest heavyweight battle in UFC history at UFC 309 next month. Across the octagon from him will be the longest-reigning UFC heavyweight champion ever, Stipe Miocic.

Miocic is a natural heavyweight, an NCAA Division I wrestler, and a Golden Gloves boxing champion. Meanwhile, Jones fought most of his career at light heavyweight. So he'll need all the help he can get to deal with a heavyweight juggernaut like Miocic and it seems 'Bones' already had that covered.

Jon Jones calls Gable Steveson a "Future MMA heavyweight champion"

Perhaps the most valuable addition to Jon Jones' fight camp is Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson. The 6'1", 265-pound behemoth captured the gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. By doing so, he became the first American to win Olympic freestyle wrestling gold in nearly 30 years.

After a brief stint in pro wrestling with the WWE and an even more brief attempt at pro football, the 24-year-old grappler's career is currently up in the air. With his addition to Jones' crew, one might assume that the Indiana native would soon lace up the four-ounce gloves.

Jones himself commented on Steveson's Instagram that he's a "Future MMA heavyweight champion", which is quite the statement coming from 'Bones'.

Wrestling has been the foundation for most if not all MMA world champions, and Steveson is one of the best at it in the world. It would not be surprising if the UFC came knocking on the young wrestler's door soon.
