Shaquille O'Neal sees "vengeance" in Conor McGregor's future

In recent years, Conor McGregor has been a mere shadow of his former self. The Irishman, who once thrived on the success of his exploits inside the octagon, including being the first simultaneous two-division champion in the UFC, is currently healing from a leg injury that he suffered in his rubber match against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

In addition, fans believe that he has passed his prime owing to the fact that he has lost three of his last four UFC bouts. Regardless, MMA fans will tune in to watch the Irishman compete, and fans of Conor McGregor will be thrilled to hear about his return to the UFC. Dana White recently announced the return of 'The Notorious' in the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) against Michael Chandler, where they will act as opposing coaches.

While it remains to be seen whether Conor McGregor will be able to achieve the same level of success he had in the UFC during his prime, Shaquille O'Neal, a legend in the game of basketball, is optimistic that Conor McGregor will achieve glory in the octagon again. The way he sees it, McGregor and O'Neal are cut from the same cloth, and they both thrive in adversity. In a recent interview on InsideFighting, O'Neal stated:

“Me and him have a similar type of blood. When you doubt us, that’s when we rise. He took a couple of bumps. He went away for a while… I know he's going to come back with vengeance."

When asked if he believes McGregor will become a champion again, O'Neal simply responded:

Of course, I know he will.”

“That was a great fight last night lads! No loser there just winners. The Ozzie and the Ozzie’s showed out and I fucking loved seeing it! Perth looks fuckin’ tasty too, now I see why so many Irish are there. I should’ve went out, former titles on the line. congrats all at @ufc"
