Shara Magomedov gives result predictions for potential fights against Khamzat Chimaev, Alex Pereira, Dricus du Plessis, and more
Shara Magomedov is considered one of the most innovative strikers in the sport of MMA today. The UFC middleweight contender recently gave his predictions of the results for his potential fights against UFC staples such as Khamzat Chimaev, Israel Adesanya, Nassourdine Imavov, Sean Strickland, Dricus du Plessis, Alex Pereira, and more.
Known by the monikers Shara 'Bullet' and 'The Pirate,' the Dagestani combatant boasts an undefeated 14-0 MMA record. He's currently 3-0 in the UFC after making his promotional debut in October 2023. Magomedov is scheduled to face Armen Petrosyan in a middleweight bout at UFC 308, which goes down at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., on Oct. 26, 2024.
Magomedov has competed in the welterweight, middleweight, and light heavyweight divisions in the sport. The 30-year-old has maintained that his current objective is to capture the UFC middleweight title.
In a recent interview with French outlet RMC Sport Combat, Shara Magomedov was asked about how he sees possible matchups between himself and a few notable UFC fighters ending.
Magomedov was also questioned about the expected result of a fight between himself and former UFC light heavyweight champion and current UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones as well as against former UFC heavyweight champion and newly-crowned PFL Super Fights heavyweight titlist Francis Ngannou.
Magomedov predicted that his fights against Adesanya, Chimaev, and Imavov would each end in a "decision" (i.e., go the distance). 'The Pirate' replied with the answer "KO" regarding how he sees his fights against Strickland, du Plessis, and Pereira ending.
Moreover, Magomedov lightheartedly implied that a fight between himself and Jones or Ngannou is infeasible. Predicting the results of those matchups, he answered "No Contest." He further indicated that with one or two victories, he'll be in the UFC's middleweight top-15.

Shara Magomedov reacts to coach's remarks about Alex Pereira, offers criticism and praise for 'Poatan'
Speaking to Red Corner MMA, Shara Magomedov's coach Gor Azizyan recently asserted that "Shara is more exciting than Alex Pereira." He deemed Magomedov's striking more dynamic. Azizyan seemingly opined that Pereira doesn't possess the technique, hands, elbows, knees, heels, high kicks, low kicks, and the frequency that 'The Pirate' does.
A number of fight fans disagreed with Azizyan's aforementioned take. Many alluded to Pereira having held the middleweight and light heavyweight titles in the Glory kickboxing organization, forging a legacy as a kickboxing great, before thriving in MMA too with his stellar striking.

During a subsequent conversation of his own with Red Corner MMA, Magomedov was asked whether he agreed with his coach's recent remarks about him and 'Poatan.' Magomedov responded by stating:
"I think so. Why not? He boxes, kicks; nothing extraordinary. His side kicks are a bit non-standard. He's a great fighter, and his fights are entertaining. Not many UFC fighters get to the title so quickly. There's a lot that I can learn from him. He's a great example." [*Translation courtesy: Red Corner MMA]
