Shavkat Rakhmonov hints at fight announcement coming soon in latest post

Shavkat Rakhmonov recently hinted at a fight announcement coming soon in his latest social media post. He is among one of the most exciting fighters in the division, so it will be interesting to see when the UFC have him slotted in.

'Nomad' currently boasts an unbeaten 18-0 MMA record and sits at No.3 in the UFC welterweight rankings. What makes his record even more impressive is that all of his wins have come via stoppage and he is yet to go the distance.

The No.3 ranked welterweight last competed at UFC 296 last December, where he earned a second-round submission win over former title challenger Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson. The Kazakh has been firmly in the title discussions since his impressive win and in recent months following Belal Muhammad's title win over Leon Edwards.

Rakhmonov recently shared an exciting update on his Instagram account. He mentioned that his training camp has begun, which implies that the date is fast approaching:

"Preparation for the upcoming fight has begun." [translated]

How many UFC fights has Shavkat Rakhmonov competed in?

Shavkat Rakhmonov had plenty of hype surrounding him when he joined the UFC in 2020 after a stint with M1-Global, where he was the welterweight champion. 'Nomad' is still young in the sport at 29 years old, so time is on his side in terms of a title opportunity.

Rakhmonov has remained fairly active since his promotional debut and has now competed in six UFC bouts and finished all his opponents. He has kept his unbeaten record intact and earned three post-fight bonuses for Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night in the process.

In addition, four of Rakhmonov's six UFC wins in the promotion have come via submission, which includes his most recent wins over ranked welterweights Geoff Neal and Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson.
