Shavkat Rakhmonov looks to continue climbing the welterweight ranks at UFC 285
Shavkat Rakhmonov made his UFC debut in October 2020 and has amassed a 4-0 record in the promotion thus far. His overall professional MMA record stands at 16-0. Rakhmonov's most recent matchup witnessed him defeat veteran UFC fighter Neil Magny via second-round submission in June 2022.
While many foresee 'Nomad' as a future UFC welterweight champion, winning his next fight is crucial for him to continue his rapid ascent up the MMA food chain. The No.9-ranked UFC welterweight is scheduled to fight the No.7-ranked Geoff Neal at UFC 285 on March 4.
Geoff Neal is a fearsome knockout artist who's currently on a two-fight win streak. Also known by the moniker 'Handz of Steel', he's being viewed as a potentially tough test for grappling savant Rakhmonov due to his striking prowess. The consensus is that a win over Neal could possibly earn Rakhmonov a fight against a top-five-ranked welterweight next.
