“She is complete” - Kickboxing legend Anissa Meksen says she’s cautious of Jackie Buntan’s versatility ahead of world title fight
Anissa Meksen has faced almost every kind of opponent in her legendary career. But it seems her looming foe Jackie Buntan has one trait that makes her stand out from the field.
The French-Algerian superstar will face Buntan for the chance to hold the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world title at the stacked ONE 169 card on Nov. 8 at the historic Lumpinee Stadium.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Meksen said she's more than prepared to take on Buntan when they square off in Bangkok.
Anissa Meksen pointed out that Buntan has all the offensive tools needed, and stressed that her boxing could be the most dangerous part of her arsenal.
She said:
"She is complete, and she has good boxing. That’s why I have trained a lot of boxing and everything.”
Meksen is one of the greatest female fighters of all time and captured multiple world titles in Muay Thai and kickboxing throughout her career.
'C18' also holds an incredible 103-6 record, with three wins under ONE Championship.
Buntan, meanwhile, has yet to reach the same notoriety that Meksen has, but quickly catapulted herself during her ONE Championship tenure.
The Filipino-American sensation is 6-1 in the promotion and rides a three-fight winning streak at the expense of Amber Kitchen, Diandra Martin, and Martine Michieletto.
Meksen and Buntan's showdown for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world title, and the entire ONE 169 card, is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
