"She means everything to me" - Adriano Moraes shares why his mother remains his biggest career inspiration

Former ONE flyweight MMA world champion Adriano Moraes has one of the most inspiring life stories in all combat sports.

Moraes was left by his biological mother when he was born in Brazil and became orphaned. Then, he was adopted at the age of three and was treated by his stepmother as her own.

This laid the foundation for him to fulfill his dream and become a successful professional fighter. Now, the submission specialist is doing everything in his power to try and repay all the love he received from her.

In a recent Instagram post by ONE Championship, 'Mikinho' shared his inspiring story and touching reason why his stepmom still inspires her up to this day, as he stated:

"She means everything to me. She is my idol. I did everything for her, and I will continue to do everything for her."

Moraes is now slated to face Danny Kingad in a thrilling and pivotal rematch on Nov. 8 as part of the ONE 169 card that will happen inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, the 36-year-old Brazilian superstar explained why his grappling skills are still better than those of the Lions Nation MMA representative despite the Filipino's constant improvement in that aspect of martial arts.

The American Top Team and Constrictor Team-affiliated athlete said:

"I'm sure he's been working on his ground game a lot. But I believe that the ground game is his weak point, and the strongest part of my game is jiu-jitsu, without a doubt."
