“She’s a legend” - Jackie Buntan honored to duel decorated opponent Anissa Meksen at ONE 169
Filipina-American striking star and former ONE world title challenger Jackie Buntan is confident she can dominate and defeat kickboxing icon 'C18' Anissa Meksen next month when they go to war. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have a lot of respect for the Algerian-French star.
Buntan will face Meksen for a piece of ONE Championship gold and she's excited for the opportunity to take on such an accomplished and decorated legend.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, the Filipina-American said::
"She’s a legend in the kickboxing world and if you’re able to beat a high-level athlete then your name gets put up there as well."
Buntan will trade leather with Meksen in a battle for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world championship.
The two lock horns at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video, which broadcasts live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, Nov. 8.

Filipina-American sensation Jackie Buntan is entering the realm of kickboxing when she steps into the ONE Championship ring for her next fight. As such, the 27-year-old star has taken great care in adapting her Muay Thai skill set to a different discipline.
Speaking to ABS-CBN, Buntan said:
"I made sure to have no shortcuts when it comes to strength transitioning into technique. I want to make sure that I'm doing the technique correctly, with full power."
