"Show everybody why I'm the champion" - Adriano Moraes dialed in for another epic display at ONE 169
Adriano Moraes is dialed in for another world title reign when he returns to action at ONE 169.
The former ONE flyweight MMA world champion will touch down in Bangkok, Thailand, next week to face old foe Danny Kingad, in a rematch that will determine the next challenger for the vacant throne.
As the countdown to Nov. 8 begins, all that Moraes can think about now is how to get his hands on the 26-pound gold.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated this week, 'Mikinho' said:
"I'm really excited for my next fight. I can't wait to be back, show everybody why I'm the champion, why I was the champion."
Moraes is one of the longest-tenured flyweights in ONE Championship. On his journey to superstardom, Moreas saw three world title reigns and multiple world title defenses in his storied MMA career.
His most recent trilogy with Demetrious Johnson, however, is the most memorable.
They had an amazing back-and-forth rivalry that filled up the seats in the stadium on more than one occasion. However, now with the flyweight crown there for the taking, Moraes is ready to prove why he's deserving of a fourth world title reign.
"It's only been three months" - Adriano Moraes keeps up with fatherly duties as ONE 169 looms closer
There's nothing more important in Adriano Moraes' life right now than to look after his wife and daughter.
The 36-year-old superstar recently welcomed his first daughter this past summer and he's absolutely loving every aspect of it.
As many know, balancing a demanding career like MMA while being a full-time dad, can be stressful at times.
However, even with so much work ahead, Moraes takes the time to pause and enjoy fatherhood as best as he can. Speaking to ONE, he said:
"It's only been three months, but I'm doing my best. It's been a marathon, but it's been really nice, and I'm enjoying every moment with them."
Watch Moraes take on Danny Kingad live on Prime Video in Canada and the United States on Nov. 8.
