“Show the world my performance” - Suablack ready to make the most of his chance against Kulabdam at ONE Friday Fights 81
Suablack plans to capitalize on the added platform provided in his upcoming fight. Between mid-2023 and early 2024, Suablack started his ONE Championship tenure with six consecutive Muay Thai wins, including four by knockout.
In June, the Thai bantamweight suffered his first promotional setback due to a first-round knockout loss against rising contender Kiamran Nabati.
On Friday, Sept. 27, Suablack looks to get back on track at ONE Friday Fights 81. The 28-year-old's latest challenge will be against Kulabdam, a two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai champion with a 7-5 promotional record.
Suablack recently participated in the ONE Friday Fights 81 virtual press conference and was asked about his latest fight. He had this to say about the opportunity to showcase his skills:
"For this Friday night, I have a chance to face Kulabdam and I could show the world my performance. I can show my people here and the people who watch me all around the world."
ONE Friday Fights 81 features a stacked lineup, including Suablack vs. Kulabdam, inside the legendary combat sports venue of Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. Friday's event in Bangkok, Thailand can be seen via pay-per-view on watch.onefc.com.
What's at stake between Suablack and Kulabdam?
Suablack seemed destined to challenge for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title before Kiamran Nabati halted his momentum. To be fair, Nabati has showcased world-class potential throughout his ONE Championship tenure, meaning Suablack's lone loss could age well.
At ONE Friday Fights 81, Suablack has an opportunity to silence the doubters and take out a well-respected opponent. With an impressive performance, the 28-year-old would be right back in the mix of a stacked division.
As for Kulabdam, he's coming off back-to-back losses against Nong-O and Nabil Anane. Therefore, the 26-year-old needs a win against Suablack to prove he's still a bantamweight contender.
Regardless of who wins, Suablack and Kulabdam should deliver fireworks inside "The Mecca of Muay Thai." Don't blink during this matchup because both Thai fighters have the ability to secure a knockout and avoid the judge's scorecards.
