Sinsamut unbothered by the power that comes with Youssef Assouik’s long limbs: “His attacks are weak”
Sinsamut Klinmee believes his upcoming opponent, Youssef Assouik, doesn't have the offensive capabilities to defeat him. On Friday, Oct. 4, ONE Fight Night 25 will take place live at the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The eleven-fight event features three sports (kickboxing Muay Thai, and MMA), including an intriguing lightweight Muay Thai matchup between Sinsamut and debutant Assouik.
The former is an ex-ONE lightweight Muay Thai title challenger who holds a promotional record of 4-3. Following a knockout loss against Dmitry Menshikov, the hard-hitting Thai fighter is looking to get back on track against Assouik.
Assouik has made a name for himself outside of ONE and plans to grow his platform on a global scale. The 29-year-old representing Denmark and Morocco has an opportunity to quickly put the division on notice by taking out the Thai warrior.
During an interview with ONE, the Pattaya native was asked about his upcoming opponent's strengths and weaknesses. He responded by saying:
"His strengths are his knees and hands because he has long limbs, while his weaknesses are that his attacks are weak."
ONE Fight Night 25 can be seen live in U.S. primetitme for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription. Friday's event is headlined by a highly-anticipated rematch between Alexis Nicolas (c) and Regian Eersel for the ONE lightweight kickboxing world title.
Sinsamut plans to utilize four-ounce gloves experience against Youssef Assouik
Youssef Assouik is a former two-division ISKA world champion who started training Muay Thai at fifteen years old. With that said, ONE Championship is the only major promotion to utilize four-ounce gloves for Muay Thai, which could allow Assouik to showcase his power.
The Venum Training Camp athlete has fought with the smaller gloves seven times in ONE, including nine rounds with Regian Eersel. Therefore, the Thai slugger could have an advantage at ONE Fight Night 25 since he knows how to adjust his range and power distribution to find maximum success.
Later this week, Sinsamut and Klinmee look to gain the attention of ONE lightweight Muay Thai world champion Regian Eersel. With a win, Sinsamut would be one step closer to avenging his two defeats against 'The Immortal.'
