Smilla Sundell shares glimpse of intense world champion training regimen at Fairtex
It takes a lot to be world champion, but reigning and undisputed ONE women's strawweight Muay Thai world champion 'The Hurricane' Smilla Sundell of Sweden knows what she needs to do to remain on top.
In fact, the 19-year-old teenage sensation is more than willing to put in the work necessary in order to retain her gold against ONE Championship's toughest fighters.
Sundell recently shared insight in the type of grueling training camp she and other elite fighters at Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand go through. And no wonder 'The Hurricane' is an absolute beast in the ring.
The Swedish fighting sensation told Calf Kick Sports in a recent interview:
"We run every morning, about 8 to 9 kilometers. And the other one is 11 to 12 kilometers. We kick pads for an hour or two in the morning, training from 8 to 10 am. Then there's clinching and breaks in between. Not really breaks, but we kick the bag, do some weights afterwards, and then we go again in the afternoon. Start at 3 pm and finish around 5 pm."
Sounds like Sundell lives and breathes training, and she practically lives in the gym. It should come as no surprise how the 19-year-old is able to remain so dominant in her sport, standing tall as the best female strawweight Muay Thai fighter in ONE Championship today.
