"Sometimes they are targeted" - Daniel Cormier gives honest opinion on Conor McGregor's assault verdict in Nikita Hand case
UFC commentator and former champion Daniel Cormier has shared his thoughts on the recent verdict of Conor McGregor's civil case. An individual named Nikita Hand had accused the Irishman of sexual assault during their meeting in December 2018. The court held McGregor liable for assault and ordered him to pay a sum of €248,000 to the plaintiff.
Cormier uploaded a video to his YouTube channel where he spoke about the matter. 'DC' started by saying that he did not intend to pass a judgment on 'The Notorious' as he was not privy to all the details of the case.
Cormier claimed that sometimes, these allegations can be a way to target a celebrity. However, the former champion added that McGregor has been linked to matters like these on more than one occasion.
"Oh man, it seems like he is in the absolute s**t... I'm not here to judge because I wasn't on the jury. I didn't have to make a decision. So, this is only one man's opinion, right? When I hear things like this, sometimes they are targeted, especially guys that carry that type of cliche, that type of name recognition. But with Conor, it seems like there have been more than one instance where stuff like this has come up. Like I said, I'm not judging this man... I don't know, I wasn't there. you know who know? Conor and that girl. But again, like I said, this isn't the first time that we've seen something like that."
