Stamp Fairtex reveals her favorite fighter in the game right now, and it could surprise you
Reigning and undisputed ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex of Thailand draws inspiration from some of the greatest martial artists throughout history. But there's one fighter in the world who is her absolute favorite, and the answer will surprise you.
The three-sport phenom was recently asked by reporters from South China Morning Post who her favorite fighter is. The 26-year-old Fairtex Training Center product replied:
"Any fighter cannot beat me. That's why I like myself right now. I love Stamp Fairtex."
Of course, that's a tongue-in-cheek response from the atomweight MMA queen. And a blatant show of confidence. Who can blame her? Stamp is on top of the world right now, and she has another chance to prove her dominance in her next fight.
Stamp Fairtex is set to defend the ONE women's atomweight MMA world title against close friend and no.2-ranked atomweight MMA contender 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga of the Philippines.
The two lock horns in the main event of ONE 167: Stamp vs. Zamboanga on Prime Video. The event broadcasts live from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live and absolutely free on Friday, June 7th, U.S. primetime on Amazon Prime Video.
Stamp Fairtex sets aside friendship with Denice Zamboanga for upcoming fight: "I knew we'd always have to fight"
Stamp Fairtex and Denice Zamboanga were once former training partners at Fairtex. Over the years, the two have sparked an undeniable friendship. But all that goes out the window when the two meet in the Circle at ONE 167.
Stamp told the South China Morning Post:
"I knew we'd always have to fight because we were in the same weight. And I know she wants to be the champion, but I have to defend [my belt]."
