Stamp all praise for close pal Denice Zamboanga after interim world title success at ONE Fight Night 27

Stamp Fairtex was in attendance this past weekend at ONE Fight Night 27, where she had her eyes on one contest in particular. The Thai superstar wasn't just enjoying the action at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Jan. 10 - she was scouting her next opponent.

At the first Fight Night event of the year, Denice Zamboanga defeated Alyona Rassohyna to win the interim ONE atomweight world championship. The Filipino contender was set to face Stamp at ONE 167 until the world champion suffered a significant injury during camp that has kept her on the sidelines.

There is a lot of mutual respect and adoration between the two former training partners and current atomweight titleholders. They already know each other well so both have a good understanding of each other's games.

In an interview with Nick Atkin for the Bangkok Post, the reigning ONE atomweight MMA world champion broke down where Zamboanga's strengths lie:

"She has a really good body. She's really fit and her boxing is really good, and ground game is good."

Stamp knows that Denice Zamboanga is well-rounded

Stamp Fairtex is aware that her next opponent is a well-rounded competitor in mixed martial arts. Against Alyona Rassohyna, Denice Zamboanga was able to show a little bit of everything before she got the finish in the second round.

Her overall game has continued to improve in recent years, and now that she has put together a four-fight winning streak, 'The Menace' is a legitimate test for the world champion.

While Stamp may hold the advantage when it comes to striking, Zamboanga won't be afraid to stand and strike with her as well as mixing it up when she needs to.

We may have had to wait a while before we finally see it take place but make no mistake about it, this is the best fight in the loaded atomweight MMA bracket.
