UFC veteran chides Conor McGregor for avoiding USADA testing during leg-break recovery

UFC veteran Cub Swanson has taken a dig at Conor McGregor for staying out of the USADA testing pool. Recovering from a broken leg that occurred last year during UFC 264, McGregor has not been tested by USADA in 2022.

The Irishman recently claimed to have kept USADA in the loop about his recovery program in advance. Commenting on McGregor's tweet, Swanson joined a list of athletes alleging the Irishman of PED use. He claimed that he never had to use PEDs despite breaking his leg in high school. Swanson wrote on Twitter:

"I actually broke my leg in high school the same way. Still never taken PEDs"

@TheNotoriousMMA I actually broke my leg in high school the same way. Still never taken PEDs

McGregor recently wrote that the extent of his injury should be taken into account while considering the allowances that he needs for recovery. 'The Notorious' claimed that no one could understand the severity of his injury except for former middleweight champions Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman, who both broke their legs inside the octagon. The Dubliner wrote:

"Everything was fully disclosed before I began. The state of allowance for athletes to recover from injuries as horrific as the one I overcame must be assessed. My thoughts are with weidman and Anderson Silva. The 3 of us, and only us, know the severity of this injury."

Conor McGregor goes off on Anthony Smith for USADA criticism

Conor McGregor, without any evidence, is suddenly being accused of PED use after USADA's testing history showed that the Irishman hadn't been tested in over a year. The allegations also likely stem from the recent bulking up of McGregor's physique, which not everyone is a fan of.

UFC light heavyweight fighter Anthony Smith recently hinted that the Irishman might be on PEDs since there is only "one reason" to avoid testing. McGregor went off on Smith, comparing his own contributions to the sport to that of 'Lionheart'. The Irishman also stated that his primary concern remains to recover from a very severe injury.

Check out the tweets that Mcgregor posted about Smith:

This rat spoke to weidman who’d the same horrific injury and is having severe complications still, is bothered that I was able to heal/return to a normal way of life. He, like many other rats in my game, would be happier if I wasn’t able to play with my children the same again. https://t.co/TaMeYVzmOD
The audacity of this loser! @lionheartasmith you’re a loser. The % of the bones joining back after a break like this is so low. You think I give a fuck about anything else. I am the most tested fighter all time in combat sport. I give everything to this game.
You - Nothing!
I thought you broke your leg yourself in your last fight lol you little dope. You embarrassment of a man! Keep my name out of your fucking mouth. Prick.

UFC President Dana White previously confirmed that Conor McGregor would have to undergo the usual six-month testing regimen before he is allowed to compete. The Irishman recently claimed that he will be cleared for testing in February and will return to the cage after undergoing two tests. However, McGregor has not specified why he wouldn't be cleared for testing before February.
