"Stop running away" - Mansur Malachiev claps back at Jarred Brooks, wants a shot at American superstar
The growing rivalry between Mansur Malachiev and ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks has reached a fever pitch following a heated exchange on social media.
'The Monkey God' posted a video on Instagram featuring his back-and-forth with the fifth-ranked ONE strawweight MMA fighter in his direct messages, with the accompanying caption:
"Over a year ago this fight could have happened and is now into fruition. Now that the dust is settled this piece of s*** needs to prove a point and stop being a b@# and stop running 😂😂 Daddy's a regular here @mansur_malachiev_uf see you soon 😘 #onechampionship"
Malachiev responded in the comments section:
"Take care of my belt and stop running away 👊 Let's do it 👊"
ONE Fight Night 25 held last Friday, Oct. 4, inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, was an important event for Malachiev. He went toe-to-toe with second-ranked ONE strawweight MMA competitor Bokang Masunyane.
With both strawweights being renowned wrestlers, Malachiev's greatly improved striking proved to be the difference as he outworked 'Little Giant' for the unanimous decision win.
Mansur Malachiev throws shade at Jarred Brooks following ONE Fight Night 25 win
After earning his third win in four fights under the ONE banner, Mansur Malachiev took aim at Jarred Brooks during his post-event interview with Nick Atkin.
The Russian standout said:
"Because for me, he is just a talker and not really a doer. So let Brooks prove that he's not just talking and he's not just an empty barrel that makes a lot of noise, but he will show me he takes action. It will be nice to meet in Qatar in December, but let's see how it goes."
