Striking specialist Michael 'Venom' Page identifies one defining "attribute" in Conor McGregor's arsenal and picks his best finish

Striking specialist Michael 'Venom' Page recently heaped praise on Conor McGregor's striking and identified the skills in his arsenal. He singled out the Irishman's best finish and described why it stood out from the rest of his highlight-reel knockout wins.

'MVP' is no stranger to finishing his fights in spectacular fashion as he made a career of doing so dating back to his tenure with Bellator, which resulted in him gaining a large following.

'The Notorious', on the other hand, has been a fixture in UFC highlight packages. His knockouts have not only been significant for his own career, but they have also been some of the most impactful in the promotion's history.

During a recent episode of 'UFC Connected', Page mentioned that McGregor's confidence and persona has been a valuable asset in making his opponents retreat and allowed him to find openings:

"[McGregor's] persona, how he walks forward, that confidence walking forward makes people want to retreat. That in itself is such a great attribute to have in a fight...One I did enjoy was against Eddie Alvarez. That slip combination. It was just a beautiful combination. People would land that first shot and they missed the second...miss the third. But he landed, landed, landed...It shows a level that he is as a striker." [21:06]

When did Conor McGregor finish Eddie Alvarez?

Michael 'Venom' Page highlighting Conor McGregor's win over Eddie Alvarez as his best finish is a great choice as it was a significant moment in the Irishman's UFC career.

The bout headlined UFC 205 in November 2016, which was the promotion's first-ever event at the world famous Madison Square Garden in New York and was a special champion vs. champion bout. The Irishman was the reigning featherweight champion and was attempting to make history at the lightweight champion's expense.

McGregor's striking was on point and he turned in an incredible performance to earn a second-round TKO win over Alvarez to become a simultaneous two-division UFC champion.
