Superbon grateful that ONE rewards its athletes with hefty bonuses: "We can get that money anytime"
Superbon was able to close the show in style when competing in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 81.
The elite Thai kickboxing specialist has always been a dangerous opponent to share the ring with due to his wide arsenal of attacks. Though he is best known for his lethal kicks, it was his elbows that got the job done when competing in the featherweight Muay Thai division.
His headline bout against Jo Nattawut ended before it really got going as the interim ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion made a statement. As a result, he earned himself a performance bonus from ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong to close out the night this past Friday.
In a post-fight interview with Nick Atkin at Lumpinee Stadium, the victor spoke about having the opportunity to enhance his purse by putting on a show:
"[For] that I have to thank the ONE Championship boss. But we are in the ONE Championship contract and we can get that money [anytime]."

Superbon didn't need to settle into his groove
When breaking down the clash between Superbon and Jo Nattawut at ONE Friday Fights 81, many would have suggested that it would hit the later rounds. The two elite Thai competitors bring very different styles to the table, which was going to make for an interesting battle.
However, there was no need for Superbon to find his groove in the fight and let his kicks go because of the elbows he landed when getting in close.
The boxing skills of 'Smokin' Jo were always going to be his best path to victory, but he didn't get a chance to implement them. By closing that distance with short, devastating elbows, the kickboxing specialist was able to show his ability to adapt to the Muay Thai ruleset.
