Superbon wants to share his fighting experience with next generation: “Teaching is a good thing”
Superbon is still very much into competition as a fighter, but admits he has also found joy in sharing his knowledge as a mentor to new-generation fighters at his newly established training facility in Thailand. The Thai superstar shared this in an interview with ONE Championship, in line with his upcoming match at ONE Friday Fights 81 on Sept. 27.
He touched on the Superbon Training Camp, which opened last year, and how it has expanded his appreciation for what he is doing.
He said:
"But actually, I have a lof of knowledge in teaching, skills, training, and things like that. I think I have more experience than any other trainers in my gym. So I feel that being a trainer or giving advice and teaching is a good thing that will help our gym develop athletes well in the future."
At there Bangkok-based training facility, Superbon and his team are angling to provide elite Muay Training training for both seasoned and upcoming fighters. It is a realization of a long-standing dream the legendary striker has always had, as he hopes to give back to striking-only sports which have opened a lot of opportunities for him through the years.
Superbon confident in the people helping him run his training facility
To help him in running his training facility, Superbon has assembled a team that gives him confidence, and is one he is very grateful for.
The ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion said he made sure that he surrounded himself with people he truly trusts at the Superbon Training Camp. This allows him to juggle his duties both as a fighter and trainer/mentor.
He told ONE Championship in an interview:
"If I'm free, I usually go to corner them because I like to watch fighting. But if I can't be there because I have other business to do, I'll have someone else go instead because we have many guys like Trainer [Arjarn] Gae and Trainer [Kru] Jeng, or anyone else who can help me take care of our fighters."
Superbon is excited to share that what they are trying to achieve at their gym is bearing fruit, with some of their fighters already making waves in competitions.
While he oversees things in his gym, Superbon is also busy preparing for his scheduled match at ONE Friday Fights 81 this week, where he will return to Muay Thai in a scheduled featherweight three-rounder against fellow Thai superstar 'Smokin' Jo Nattawut.
The match will serve as the headlining contest of the event happening at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and will be available to fans in North America via global pay-per-view through watch.onefc.com.
