Superlek breaks down his jaw-dropping finish of Jonathan Haggerty in Denver: "I got the timing figured out"
'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 authored one of the best highlight-reel finishes inside the circle at ONE 168: Denver last month.
And all the ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion needed was under a minute to stun Jonathan Haggerty and place himself among the promotion's two-sport world champions inside the packed Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
Superlek broke down the moments leading up to his 49-second elbow knockout in a recent clip uploaded on Yokkao's official YouTube channel, admitting that he had Haggerty figured out the very moment they first swapped shots during their clash for bantamweight Muay Thai supremacy.
The Kiatmoo9 Gym martial artist said:
"The first 10-20 seconds of the fight, I was trying to feel him out, trying to get a sense of his movements and strategy. I threw out some jabs to see how he'd react to them and if they were as I expected and practiced for."
He continued:
"In that moment, he came with a one-two combo and a left kick. I knew that was what he'd do. So I got the timing figured out."
His knockout in Denver, Colorado, pushed his overall slate to an impressive 139-29 and earned him a US$50,000 performance bonus.

While he will take the lightning-quick knockout of the Knowlesy Academy and Team Underground man, the Kiatmoo9 representative admits that he'd never have put his money on seeing off the Londoner in The Mile High City that quickly.
Superlek told Nick Atkin previously:
"I knew I was going to finish the fight. But I didn't think it was going to come that quickly."
