Superlek out to protect top-ranked spot at all costs vs. Kongthoranee: “I’d do whatever it takes”

Superlek plans on protecting his spot as the top-ranked fighter in ONE's flyweight Muay Thai division — no matter what it takes.

After scoring back-to-back wins over Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Japanese kickboxing icon Takeru Segawa in his last two outings, 'The Kicking Machine' will return to the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on Friday, June 28, for a clash with fast-rising standout Kongthoranee Sor Sommai.

The two warriors will co-headline a loaded ONE Friday Fights 68, airing live on pay-per-view at watch.onefc.com.

Determined to keep his unbeaten streak in the 'art of eight limbs' and his No.1 ranking, Superlek is planning to do "whatever it takes" to see his hand raised inside the 'Mecca of Muay Thai' this Friday:

"I’m really focused on this fight, I’m focused on him, and I’d do whatever it takes to not lose my ranking," the ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion said during an appearance at the ONE Friday Fights 68 virtual press conference.

Kongthoranee makes his 10th walk to the circle against Superlek at ONE Friday Fights 68

Though Superlek has already fought and beaten some of the absolute best fighters in the world, Kongthoranee will bring an entirely different type of challenge to 'The Kicking Machine' in Bangkok, Thailand.

Since making his ONE Championship debut in 2023, Kongthoranee has amassed an impressive 8-1 record, including an active seven-fight win streak featuring three highlight-reel knockouts.

Overall, he has 68 career wins to his credit and is a two-time Rajadamnern Stadium world champion.

Of course, Kongthoranee has never faced a challenge quite like Superlek. Hailed by many as the best pound-for-pound striker on the planet, 'The Kicking Machine' is 13-1 under the ONE banner with 137 total wins and currently reigns as ONE's flyweight kickboxing world champion.
