Surging middleweight, unbeaten in the promotion set to attend UFC 308 as "fighter guest"
UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi is getting more and more star-studded as the promotion sends a few of its well-known fighters over to the Middle East to bring more eyes to the event later this month.
One such fighter is surging UFC middleweight Caio 'The Natural' Borralho, who posted his excitement on X at being invited as a "fighter guest" in the high-profile event.
Borralho tweeted:
"Coming to Abu Dhabi to ufc 308 as a fighter guest! Thanks @ufc"
\ Borralho is on a 17-fight unbeaten streak, with nine under the UFC banner. 'The Natural' first fought in Dana White's Contender Series twice, with the second in getting him a contract with the promotion.
The Fighting Nerds gym standout followed it up with seven straight victories in the UFC, with the most recent being a five-round unanimous decision win over former UFC middleweight title challenger Jared Cannonier. The bout was his first main event in the UFC, which won Fight of the Night honors.
UFC 308 is stacked from top to bottom
Although the stars invited to watch the event live are bringing more hype to UFC 308, it's undeniably the fight card that will pull in the audience - both live and on pay-per-view.
In the main card, high-ranked UFC light-heavyweight Magomed Ankalaev will face Alexandar Rakic in a three-round battle. Ankalaev, who is a former Sambo champion in his home of Dagestan, Russia, is on a 12-fight unbeaten streak. It's largely accepted that if he gets past Rakic, Ankalaev will next face Alex Pereira for the title.
In the co-main event, former UFC middleweight champion Robert 'The Reaper' Whittaker will face highly-touted and feared Khamzat 'Borz' Chimaev in a fight rescheduled from UFC Saudi Arabia last June.
In the main event, UFC featherweight champion and frightening KO artist Ilia 'El Matador' Topuria will defend his belt against former divisional king and current BMF champ Max Holloway. The MMA community is divided with this fight as Topuria's one-shot KO power will go against Holloway's legendary punch volume and fighting grit.
UFC 308 happens inside the Eithad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 26.
