Tai Tuivasa reveals which famous Hollywood actor he would like to have a 'shoey' with

Tai Tuivasa is as well known for his 'shoey' as his knockouts inside the octagon. During a recent interview on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, he was asked to name one person on the planet with whom he'd like to have a shoey.

Without hesitation, the Australian answered:

"Leonardo DiCaprio, I love him. That's my guy. I love him. I love what he does, I love his movies. And I think he is like, he's just a s**t. I'd love to go out with him. I'd love to hang out."

Throwback to the time when Joe Rogan refused to lend his shoe to Tai Tuivasa

For the uninitiated, a shoey is a practice of celebratory drinking that is popular in Australia. Simply put, it means drinking beer or other beverages from a shoe that has been worn. It does not come across as something that you would want to try but Tai Tuivasa has made it iconic in the UFC.

By now, fans associate the shoey with Tai Tuivasa’s success inside the octagon. Tuivasa also got UFC president Dana White to do the shoey with him following his win over Derrick Lewis at UFC 271.

However, one man cannot stand the practice and that’s UFC color commentator Joe Rogan. At UFC 225, Rogan interviewed Tuivasa after his unanimous decision win over former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski.

This was the biggest victory of ‘Bam Bam’s' career at the time and he joyfully asked Rogan if he could borrow his shoe for the celebration.

Joe Rogan responded:

“I’m not lending you my shoe! You’re gotta have to do that with somebody else, bro! I’ve gotta walk around in that thing, bro! I know how you guys do that, that’s disgusting!”

The crowd was largely unaware of the practice at the time and Rogan made sure to let everyone know what Tuivasa intended to do with his shoe:

“He drinks beer out of shoes, folks!”
