Takeru careful not to give away his game plan for Thant Zin war: "I cannot say it at this moment"
Japanese kickboxing star Takeru Segawa doesn't want to disclose too much before his sophomore outing at ONE Friday Fights 81.
'The Natural Born Crusher' finds himself in a must-win situation in his upcoming fight. After going down to 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 165 in January, the Team Vasileus athlete is dialed to make his presence felt in the promotion.
Looking to crush his dreams is Burmese striker Thant Zin. They lock horns in a flyweight kickboxing duel this Friday, Sept. 27.
When asked about his game plan, Takeru had this to say at the ONE Friday Fights 81 virtual press conference:
"Regarding [my] strategies, I cannot say it at this moment."
Despite keeping his lips sealed, it isn't much of a surprise to what fans can expect from the former three-division K-1 world champion inside the 'Mecca of Muay Thai' later this week.
'The Natural Born Crusher' does his best work when he's on the go.
He charges forward with blistering kicks, and he utilizes teeps to a large degree whenever he needs to cut an incoming attack. The 33-year-old always follows up with his frenetic volume of punches to keep his opposite number at bay. Whether or not he will deploy the same strategy remains to be seen.
Thant Zin's aggression and knockout meter have put both his opponents under the ONE Championship banner to sleep. So it'll be interesting to see how Takeru deals with it when they cross paths at ONE Friday Fights 81.
