Takeru still in disbelief after "dramatic" comeback KO over Thant Zin: "I have entertained the ONE Friday Fights fans"
Takeru Segawa was able to earn his first win under the ONE Championship banner at ONE Friday Fights 81. However, the fact that he finished the fight in the second round doesn't tell the whole story of his bout with Thant Zin.
The Lethwei fighter was aggressive and powerful like many expected him to be, but even that wasn't as simple as it seemed. Thant Zin was able to pour the pressure on in the opening round and ended up dropping the Japanese superstar in the first stanza.
After getting back to his feet, the former K-1 world champion rallied in the second round with some huge punches of his own to find the finish.
In a post-fight interview with Nick Atkin at Lumpinee Stadium, he spoke about how things didn't go to plan but he did put on a show for the fans:
"I didn't expect that it was going to be this dramatic. I know that Thant Zin is very strong. I didn't expect myself to win that easily, but if I didn't get [knocked] down, that would have been better. But I know that I have entertained the ONE Friday Fights fans all over the globe."

Takeru showed his heart once again
Takeru didn't get his hand raised on his ONE Championship debut earlier this year at ONE 165. But despite coming up short against Superlek in Japan, he did show his ability to fight through adversity, and at one stage in the fight, he looked like he was turning the tide.
This was the case once again at ONE Friday Fights 81, where he battled back from a tough start to the fight. This time around, however, he found the finish that he was looking for.
His ability to overcome adversity is sure to be tested in the huge meeting between him and Rodtang that will likely be coming in the near future.
