"Techniques evolve" - Aung La N Sang says martial artists nowadays are more skilled than ever
As a 44-fight veteran in MMA, Aung La N Sang has been there and seen it all in this sport.
'The Burmese Python' has been at the very top as a two-weight world champion and he has worked his back after losing his titles.
Still going strong at the age of 39, Aung La has had a remarkable career when you consider that he made his pro debut all the way back in 2005, nearly two decades ago.
His longevity means that he has watched the sport grow and change over time as well as the athletes that compete in it.
MMA has come so far over the last twenty years but he's keen to point out how the competitors have also evolved with it.
In a recent interview with The AllStar, the veteran spoke about how fighters are now far more well-rounded than they were once were in the earlier days of the sport:
"When I say techniques evolve, it's not, you know, like you look at UFC or ONE Championship, like nobody knows jiu-jitsu or anything. I'm saying that in terms like people are learning jiu-jitsu, people know how to wrestle, everybody knows how to strike."
