Terence Crawford shares one-word reaction to being confused with Kendrick Lamar at Noche UFC 306

Terence Crawford was in attendance for the highly anticipated Noche UFC 306 event held on Sept. 14 at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The event was a "love letter to Mexico" for its role in the evolution of combat sports, and was part of the Mexican Independence Day celebrations.

The pay-per-view card was headlined by a bantamweight title clash between Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili, with Mexico's own Alexa Grasso facing Valentina Shevchenko for the flyweight title in the co-main event.

With the high-profile nature of the event, important figures within the combat sports world were in attendance, including Crawford and Turki Alalshikh, who were sat together octagon-side.

With both 'Bud' and Alalshikh eager to schedule a clash with Canelo Alvarez, the Nebraska native was accorded the opportunity to call out the super middleweight champion live on the UFC's broadcast.

However, disaster struck for the production team as the nametag for Crawford read as "Kendrick Lamar", with the error going viral online amongst fans almost instantly.

The WBA super welterweight champion has now reacted to the moment, as he took to Instagram and posted the following on his story:

"Damn @kendricklamar"

Dana White reacts to UFC's mix-up with Terence Crawford and Kendrick Lamar

Noche UFC 306 was a ground breaking event for the promotion, as they became the first-ever combat sports event to be held at the revolutionary venue known as The Sphere in Las Vegas.

The event featured levels of production unlike anything seen by fans of MMA before, with 90-second movies being played before each main card fight as part of the celebration of Mexico's fighting history.

The execution of the pay-per-view card went off without a hitch, well almost, as production staff made one error that caught the eyes of fans around the world. Terence Crawford, who was in the crowd, was identified onscreen as Kendrick Lamar when the camera panned to 'Bud'.

UFC CEO Dana White appeared in front of the media following the event, where he was asked about the promotion's mix up. He said this:

"That was pretty bad, he did kind of look like Kendrick Lamar though. Let's not f**k around, he kind of did look like Kendrick Lamar. But yeah, when I said we had a flawless production tonight, I take that back. There was the one."
