Test sessions ahead of UFC 307: How many times have Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr. been tested per new Anti-Doping database?

Ahead of UFC 307, updated Anti-Doping data was recently reported for the light heavyweight title clash between Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr. The result shows that both competitors have been frequently tested in recent years.

The title fight is scheduled to serve as the main event for this Saturday's pay-per-view event in Salt Lake City, Utah. The reigning light heavyweight champion has taken the UFC by storm since debuting as he has become a two-division champion and gained a larger following.

Jed I.Goodman tweeted updated data, which shows that the Brazilian has been tested a total of 22 times since his promotional debut.

Rountree Jr., on the other hand, has continued his surge up the ranks of the light heavyweight division and has been tested often since his debut as well. According to the same data, the challenger has been tested a total of 38 times.

How many times have Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr. been tested ahead of UFC 307?

In addition to the total number of tests that Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr. have completed since their UFC debuts, the extensive year-by-year breakdown of tests was also reported.

According to the aforementioned tweet, Pereira has been tested frequently throughout the past two years. Based on his year-by-year breakdown, it appears his testing numbers significantly increased once he became a contender and later champion:

"Alex Pereira - Total 22. 2024: 4. 2023: 9. 2022:8. 2021: 1"

Rountree Jr., on the other hand, has been tested more overall but not as often as the light heavyweight champion. According to the same year-by-year breakdown, the challenger's annual testing numbers have remained consistent since 2020 and only saw a significant surge in testing in 2017:

"Khalil Rountree: Total 38. 2024: 4. 2023: 5. 2022: 5. 2021: 5. 2020: 4. 2019: 5. 2018: 2. 2017: 7. 2016: 1."
