"Thai people underestimate him" - Chatri Sityodtong on why fans shouldn’t count Denis Puric out against the mighty Rodtang

ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong is super hyped about his promotion's upcoming ONE 167 on Prime Video fight card next weekend, and for good reason. There are a handful of exciting matchups on hand.

But one matchup is poised to steal the show, and Sityodtong says fans should tune in to watch how it unfolds.

Reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon is set to lock horns with 'The Bosnian Menace' Denis Puric at ONE 167: Tawanchai vs. Nattawut II on Prime Video.

The event broadcasts live from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live and absolutely free on Amazon Prime Video. It airs on Friday, June 7, in U.S. primetime.

Sityodtong says that although Rodtang is hands down the favorite to win this battle, fans shouldn't count Puric out, who is a legitimate threat to 'The Iron Man'.

He said in an interview with Antoine Pinto:

"Denis Puric is a knockout artist too. He’s sharp and aggressive, and he is a world-class veteran. But many Thai people underestimate him. He is not easy to take down, [this will be] anything but an easy fight for Rodtang."

Sityodtong added:

"Puric is even more dangerous in kickboxing rules. He is determined that if he beats Rodtang, he will become a superstar."

Rodtang Jitmuangnon on Denis Puric: "I never underestimate my opponent"

'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon says he isn't taking 'The Bosnian Menace' Denis Puric lightly by any means. The Thai megastar is showing Puric a lot of respect ahead of their showdown at ONE 167 on Prime Video.

He told ONE Championship:

"I never think that I had an advantage over anyone. I just want to do my best in every fight. Everyone has talent and strength. I never underestimate my opponent. They’re all good. I need to do my homework as best I can."
