"That fight is a must-see" - Rodtang believes Superlek vs Jonathan Haggerty is the biggest striking match of the year
Rodtang Jitmuangnon is considered to the one of the very best in the world at what he does. The Thai striking star has been at the top of the mountain for some time and during that period, he has crossed paths with many other elite competitors.
Two of his greatest foes are now set to clash for the first time under the ONE Championship banner at ONE 168 on Sept. 6.
In the main event at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, Jonathan Haggerty puts his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship on the line against Superlek Kiatmoo9.
Throughout his career in the promotion, Rodtang has produced classic fights with both halves of this main event match-up.
'The Iron Man' believes that their upcoming meeting could hit that same level of quality because of the skill level that they both bring to the table.
He spoke in an interview with ONE Championship about how this one isn't a fight that can't be overlooked for one second:
"Both are number one in Muay Thai and kickboxing. No matter who they fight, that fight is a must-see."
Rodtang knows what both men are all about
Rodtang may be known for his all-action style but when he faced Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek, they matched him.
Both men are such high-level athletes that rather than looking to play a defensive game or crumbling under pressure, they went to war with the flyweight Muay Thai world champion.
In fact, his wars with the Thai stars are the only time that Haggerty has suffered defeat during his time in the promotion.
Superlek, on the other hand, came out on top in his epic back-and-forth showdown with Rodtang last year.
He'll be watching closely to see how his former opponents match up with one another come Sept. 6.
