“That would be massive” - Liam Harrison would be shocked if Jonathan Haggerty got past Superlek at ONE 168

British Muay Thai icon and former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title challenger 'Hitman' Liam Harrison of the United Kingdom believes two-sport world champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty needs to stop preying on older fighters.

The Bad Company representative says his English rival should instead fight opponents in their prime, which is neither scarce nor rare in the world's largest martial arts organization.

Haggerty is one of the most decorated world champions in ONE Championship, but his most notable wins have come against a pair of aged Thai legends in Sam-A Gaiyanghadao and Nong-O Hama.

Speaking to Sky Sports MMA Club in a recent interview, Harrison revealed the two names Haggerty needs to beat if he wants to be considered as the best.

'Hitman' stated:

"Haggerty needs to fight Superlek at his prime and if he comes through that fight then (bleep) fair to the guy because that would be massive but if he does go through Superlek then he has to go through Nico Carrillo, he’s got to go through him."

Haggerty is set to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai gold against flyweight kickboxing kingpin Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver this September. If he is victorious, he could draw no.1-ranked Nico Carrillo as the next challenger to his Muay Thai throne.

'Hitman' Liam Harrison returns to face Thai legend Seksan Or Kwanmuang at ONE 168: Denver

'Hitman' Liam Harrison, on the other hand, is focused only on legend vs. legend fights moving forward in his career, and wants the bouts that will enhance his legacy.

Harrison is set to lock horns with 'The Man Who Yields To No One' Seksan Or Kwanmuang of Thailand at ONE 168: Denver, which broadcasts live from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado on Friday, September 6th.

Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live and absolutely free on Amazon Prime Video.
