“That power hasn’t gone anywhere” - Muay Thai star Jackie Buntan insists her strikes are just as lethal in kickboxing transition

Jackie Buntan is confident that her strikes will be just as powerful in eight-ounce boxing gloves as they are in four-ounce ones.

After making a name for herself in the art of eight limbs, earning big wins over Nat 'Wondergirl' Jaroonsak, Ekaterina Vandaryeva, Diandra Martin, and Martine Michieletto, Buntan hopes to bring home her first ONE world championship on Friday, November 8 when she steps back onto martial arts' biggest global stage.

Taking part in one of three title fights at ONE 169 inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium, Buntan will square off with seven-time titleholder Anissa Meksen with the winner emerging as the ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world champion.

It will be Buntan's first time competing in kickboxing under the ONE banner, but she does not doubt that her signature power will be on full display despite the bigger gloves.

Buntan told Violent Money TV:

"I think tremendously," "When I turned pro, I truly felt 'Oh, wow!' this is a different type of power that I have and it’s not just a one-fight type of thing. It’s every fight, I’m able to showcase the type of power I have in myself - in my hands, in my legs. I think it’s gonna carry over just fine."

He added:

"That power hasn’t gone anywhere, it’s not gonna go anywhere. So it’s still gonna be there despite bigger gloves. It’s still going to transfer through."

Anissa Meksen looks to fill out her resume at the expense of Jackie Buntan

With a solid 6-1 record in ONE and 26 career wins to his credit, Jackie Buntan has every reason to feel confident about her chances of leaving ONE 169 as a world champion.

However, that will be no easy task as she faces a fighter who knows a thing or two about what it takes to win gold.

Anissa Meksen has over 100 wins on her resume and has captured titles in a slew of organizations, including GLORY Kickboxing, the ISKA, and the WBC. The only thing missing from her resume is a ONE world title.

Will Meksen remedy that inside the Mecca of Muay Thai, or will Buntan continue her impressive ONE run and bring the belt home to the United States?
