"That really was a silver lining" - Jackie Buntan grateful for extra time to prepare for Anissa Meksen world title fight

Jackie Buntan feels ultra grateful to have had more time to prepare for a world title war with kickboxing superstar Anissa Meksen.

The Filipina-American striker is on her way to make history this week, when she defeats Anissa Meksen for the vacant ONE strawweight kickboxing world title on Nov. 8 at ONE 169.

Speaking to ONE Championship this week, Buntan exuded calmness and confidence, compared to where she was this past July.

During one of her sparring sessions for ONE Fight Night 23 against Meksen, Buntan suffered a horrible toe injury that prevented her from headlining the main event on July 6.

Devastating as it was at the time, the Filipina-American superstar later discovered that sometimes a good can come from a bad situation.

Speaking to ONE, she explained:

"So yeah, that really was a silver lining, getting more time to practice new things and to really hone it in and get it integrated naturally versus kind of just cram it in within a fight camp and hope that it comes out."
