"That's going to be unbelievable" - Chatri Sityodtong hyped for the massive title fights at ONE 169: Atlanta
After revisiting Denver, Colorado, for ONE 168 this past Friday, Chatri Sityodyong is now focused on raising the roof in Georgia's State Farm Arena on November 8. The must-see title fights that are taking place at ONE 169: Atlanta has everyone anticipating its arrival.
The reason behind the excitement is its star attractions: Anatoly Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane, the main event for the ONE middleweight MMA strap, and Rodtang Kitmuangnon vs. Jacob Smith, the co-main event for the flyweight Muay Thai world championship.
In addition, Christian Lee returns to defend his ONE lightweight MMA belt against No. 1 contender Alibeg Rasulov, and featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai returns to settle all doubts about his supremacy with a thrilling trilogy against Thai superstar Jo Nattawut.
With four belts on the line, we can expect another groundbreaking fight card in ONE's second US show of the year. Even Chatri Sityodtong is hyped to bring another fantastic show for ONE Championship's most loyal fans in the US.
He said during the live broadcast of ONE 168:
"Huge card. Anatoly Malykhin, the greatest heavyweight on the planet. 14-0, all finishes. From the Russian national team in wrestling. He's just an absolute monster. One-punch KO power, he's a specimen. And he's going up against 'Reug Reug' who is an incredible Senegalese wrestler, but he's a specimen because of his athleticism, his balance and everything, that's an explosive one. Of course, we have Rodtang and Jacob Smith. That's going to be unbelievable as well."
Tickets for ONE 169: Atlanta are available via Ticketmaster.
"It is possible that we would do Rodtang vs Superlek 2 in the US" - Chatri Sityodtong considers having two of the world's best superstars collide in the US
Chatri Sityodtong says he's considering a Rodtang vs Superlek showdown in the United States after witnessing Superlek's surging popularity with American fans last week.
The only man who has come close to defeating double-world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 is 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitumangnon. Their rematch in the US would be explosive if they were to fight again on American shores.
Seeing how receptive the fans are to two of Thailand's biggest stars, Chatri said he wouldn't be opposed to the idea of having their anticipated saga continue on foreign territory.
At the post-even presser, he said:
"It is possible that we would do Rodtang vs Superlek 2 in the US, it's very possible."
