“That’s why I’m here” - Liam Harrison says he’s in ONE Championship to fight the world’s best
British Muay Thai icon and former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title challenger 'Hitman' Liam Harrison of the United Kingdom says the reason he's in ONE Championship is because he wants to face the best fighters in the world.
The 38-year-old combat sports veteran has been out nearly two years due to a gnarly knee injury that has kept him sidelined. But now, 'Hitman' is back and ready to make his highly anticipated return against fellow legend Seksan Or Kwanmuang of Thailand.
Speaking to Sky Sports MMA Club in a recent interview, Harrison says that the reason he chose such a dangerous opponent in Seksan for his return bout is because he doesn't know any better. He's always after the toughest tests in his career, which is why he loves ONE Championship.
'Hitman' stated:
"Exactly. You’re not going to go up there and [asking] ‘can I have a warm up fight, please?’ This is my first fight back and this guy has a hundred fights himself. It’s always going to be tough fighting in ONE Championship, that’s why I’m here."
Fans eagerly await Harrison's return to the global stage of ONE Championship, and they won't have to wait long as he is set to return to action in just a couple of months' time.
