“That’s what I want” - Ilias Ennahachi wants to be remembered for the “crazy fights” he put on in ONE Championship
Ilias Ennahachi knows legacies aren't built on world titles alone.
The former ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion said he wants to be remembered as one of the most exciting fighters ONE Championship has had on its roster.
Ennahachi said in an interview with the South China Morning Post he wants fans to remember him as someone who never backed down from any fight and put on a classic every time he stepped between the ropes.
The Moroccan star expressed:
"When I’m finished fighting, I want everyone to say ‘oh this guy Ilias the Moroccan guy, he was crazy, he beat everyone in ONE Championship and he had crazy fights.’ That’s what I want."
Ilias Ennahachi is a perfect 4-0 in ONE Championship and remains the only fighter in the promotion to beat Superlek Kiatmoo9, the now-reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing and bantamweight Muay Thai world champion.
After fighting under the flyweight division in his first three fights in ONE Championship, Ennahachi bumped up to bantamweight and had a violent debut in his new weight class.
Ennahachi unleashed his unreal power when he knocked out Iran's Aliasghar Ghodratisaraskan in the second round of their ONE Friday Fights 6 meeting.
The 28-year-old now looks to bring that innate tenacity and ferocity in his next match in the promotion.
Ennahachi will take on former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Hiroki Akimoto at ONE Friday Fights 81 Friday at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
Ilias Ennahachi plans to overwhelm Hiroki Akimoto with his speed at ONE Friday Fights 81
It's often been said that speed kills, and Ilias Ennahachi plans to unleash that motor when he faces Hiroki Akimoto in Bangkok.
In the same interview with the South China Morning Post, Ennahachi said he plans to swarm Akimoto with constant offense in this pivotal matchup between world champions.
"When you box with me, I can kick, when you kick, I can box. I'm too fast for these guys, even at bantamweight, I'm too fast. I move a lot, but I can also put pressure [on my opponents], so it's going to be a hard fight, but a great fight."
