"The beast" - Fans give their hot takes ahead of Superlek's world title challenge against Jonathan Haggerty in Denver
ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 is gunning for two-sport supremacy later this year when he challenges two-sport ONE world titlist Jonathan Haggerty for his bantamweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE 168: Denver on September 6 inside the Ball Arena.
The world's largest martial arts promotion shared a graphic of Superlek's last 10 forays inside the Circle via Instagram, all of which were wins, and asked the following question in the caption:
"The Kicking Machine" only strives for the win π Can Superlek add another belt to his collection when he challenges Jonathan Haggerty for the bantamweight Muay Thai crown at ONE 168: Denver? @superlek789"
Superlek's biggest fans were quick to respond in the comments section which can be read below:
"The beast π"
"Superlek winπ₯π₯"
"He unbeatable for sureππ₯"
"I love Superlek! But I hope he doesn't get too confident because it'll definitely ruin his streak π’"
"He's bringing home the gold"
Of all the above comments though, one fan is supremely confident of Superlek's chances against 'The General' that he made a bet:
"If Haggerty beats superlek I'll eat my shoes"
Superlek sends ominous warning to Jonathan Haggerty
Some ONE fans might not know that Superlek and Haggerty had already faced each before in 2018 as part of a Yokkao event where the former won via TKO after a doctor's stoppage.
As they both prepare to fight each other for the first time under ONE, Superlek cautioned Haggerty from thinking he has stagnated.
The Kiatmoo9 Gym product recently told Sportskeeda MMA:
"I also believe that I have made huge improvements since the last time he fought me. I've been with ONE for a while, and I have grown comfortable with the style and the smaller gloves."
Tickets for ONE 168 are available via Ticketmaster.
