"The best time for me to be a fan" - Demetrious Johnson content on being a spectator during his MMA hiatus
Demetrious Johnson appears to be heading towards the end of his legendary career in mixed martial arts.
'Mighty Mouse' currently finds himself more motivated by other pursuits and one of them is simply getting to be a fan of all things combat sports.
The ONE flyweight MMA world champion was last in action at ONE Fight Night 10 in May of last year.
Having successfully rounded out his trilogy with Adriano Moraes by securing the win in Colorado, Johnson has since turned his attention to competing in grappling tournaments.
Whilst this allows him to stay busy and scratch the martial arts itch, another new passion project of his is the work that he is doing as a fight analyst.
Via his YouTube channel, Johnson is constantly breaking down fights or interviewing other athletes and putting his own extensive knowledge of combat sports to good use.
He spoke during a recent appearance on the Jaxxon Podcast about how more than anything else, he's enjoying just getting to take it all in from the outside for a change:
"I always tell people that right now is the best time for me to be a fan of the sport. Not just mixed martial arts, but combat sports. That's one of the things I'm enjoying right now, is watching combat."

Demetrious Johnson will be successful at anything
With the knowledge that he has accumulated during his career paired with his elite mindset, Demetrious Johnson is a no-brainer for a fighter who would go on to become an expert analyst.
'Mighty Mouse' is one of the best minds to have ever competed in MMA so whilst he's still one of the best fighters in the world, he's still able to use that to his advantage without stepping inside the cage himself.
Johnson is sure to be successful at anything that he sets his mind to and for the time being, his focus is outside of competing in mixed martial arts.
