"The desire to destroy each other" - Fans revel at the insane pace Danny Kingad showed against Eko Roni Saputra
Former ONE flyweight MMA world title challenger Danny Kingad was the second athlete in ONE Championship to hand Eko Roni Saputra a defeat in the promotion when he scored a unanimous decision victory over him in February 2023 at ONE Fight Night 7.
With the result, Kingad snapped the seven-fight win streak that Saputra had held for three years.
Highlights of their thrilling clash were recently posted by the world's largest martial arts organization on Instagram account, alongside the caption:
"Action-packed 😤 Will Danny Kingad defeat Adriano Moraes in their flyweight MMA rematch at ONE 169? @dannykingad"
'The King' surprised everyone by beating Saputra at his own game, as he out-wrestled and out-grappled him throughout the fight. Additionally, Kingad showed his supremacy in striking by landing multiple combinations that clipped Saputra.
His best shot was the spinning back fist he connected in the second round, almost removing the Indonesian slugger from his equilibrium. Ultimately, the Filipino MMA sensation bagged the decision victory to maintain his place in the division's top five rankings.
This fantastic showing of Kingad has received massive praise from fans, especially from users @lukallenwylde, @limktg_7132, @salvo.giord_, and @klinyugo, who sent him their admiration through their comments:
"The absolute desire to destroy each other is so apparent in this video. 😅"
"Danny Kingad is action-packed TV! 🇵🇭🦁🔥"
"Idc, this is art"
"Hellish of a fight guys 👏"
Danny Kingad sets his eyes on vacant ONE flyweight MMA world title ahead of rematch with Adriano Moraes
The Lions Nation MMA representative is ramping up his preparations for his upcoming rematch with former ONE flyweight MMA world champion Adriano Moraes on Nov. 8 at ONE 169.
Kingad believes winning over his former tormentor would give him a clear path to a potential shot at the vacant 26-pound golden belt in the division, which MMA legend Demetrious Johnson recently relinquished.
The 29-year-old Baguio native stated this during his recent interview with Manila Standard:
"I think this fight is the way to get that world title shot after seven long years. I'm motivated. The world title is here for the taking and I'm eyeing it."
