“The most exciting match” - Mikey Musumeci says he and Kade Ruotolo will hunt submissions non-stop at ONE 168

Reigning and undisputed ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci of the United States has no plans of changing up his style, and it doesn't matter who he's up against. Not even his upcoming opponent, ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo, can alter Musumeci's submission-focused mindset.

The 28-year-old Italian-American star vows to keep constant pressure when he rolls with his 21-year-old counterpart in a couple of weeks.

'Darth Rigatoni' believes his matchup with Ruotolo will be one of the most watched in jiu-jitsu history because the two go for non-stop submissions. He told ONE Championship in a recent interview:

"Kade is the same way, but on top. He’s always looking to sub the person from top. So you have two guys that are looking to sub each other that are always forward in this match. Isn’t that the most exciting match, then?"

Musumeci will move up three weight classes to face Ruotolo for the lightweight strap. The two lock horns at ONE 168: Denver, which broadcasts live from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado on Friday, Sept. 6.

Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live and absolutely free on Amazon Prime Video. Tickets to watch live in-stadium are available at Ticketmaster.

Mikey Musumeci says it's all good vibes against Kade Ruotolo at ONE 168: "I'm just really excited for this challenge"

'Darth Rigatoni' Mikey Musumeci can't wait to roll with good friend and fellow ONE world champion Kade Ruotolo at ONE 168, and the 28-year-old Italian-American star says it's a nice change of pace from his recent outings.

For one, Musumeci harbors no ill feelings toward Ruotolo, whom he holds in high regard.

'Darth Rigatoni' told Cageside Press:

"I'm just really excited for this challenge. The uncertainty, the doubt, can I do this? Can I overcome such an amazing competitor? There's no bad blood, there's no pushing or anything. Thank God, it's going to be good vibes."
